Alleged stabber arrested at SR Twp. concert

State police arrested a man who allegedly tried to stab a security guard Friday night at a concert in Slippery Rock Township.

On Saturday, Alexander S. Hohbach, 33, of West Pittsburgh, was charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

After his arraignment, Hohbach was taken to Butler County Prison on $15,000 conditional bond. If posted, the condition would be to have no contact with the security guard.

According to charging documents, police were dispatched to a report of an attempted stabbing involving a security guard at a concert on Stoughton's Beach Road.

Police said when they arrived, Hohbach had been detained by the same guard he tried to stab.

According to documents, the guard told police that Hohbach was drunk, “out of control” and falling to the ground. The guard tried to remove Hohbach from the concert, but instead Hohbach rose with a knife in hand, police said.

“Hohbach got up swinging a knife at (the guard),” police said. “(The guard) related that he was able to get the knife off of Hohbach, tackled him, then placed handcuffs on Hohbach to detain him until the police were able to arrive.”

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 12 before District Judge William O'Donnell.
