Owners suspect possible theft

Jessie, a Clydesdale horse weighing about 1,500 pounds and standing approximately 6 feet, 3 inches, went missing from a Clinton Township farm late Sunday night.

JeNeen Fleishner, of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, who is part owner of Fleishner Excavating, reported that Jessie was missing and possibly stolen from the farm to state police and Clinton Township officials.

The family is offering a $2,000 reward for information resulting in the safe return of Jessie.

According to Fleishner, security camera footage from the barn shows Jessie there until about midnight Sunday, when she wandered down a hill not visible by the camera. The fence and barn were undamaged, which led Fleishner to believe the 10-year-old horse was stolen.

“The fence is intact, and it's clear that someone took her,” Fleishner said.

Fleishner said the Clydesdale breed is expensive and can be sold at high prices, so she also notified auctioneers in and out of state that Jessie was missing.

“It's really not uncommon for a horse worth that kind of money being taken,” Fleishner said.

Jessie is a brown horse with a white face and legs with a black mane, and Fleishner said she is friendly to people.
