Cops: Suspected drugs flushed, man arrested

Baker

The Butler County Drug Task Force allegedly found drugs during a Tuesday night search of a Butler home on the 300 block of Hickory Street.

Raymond S. Baker, 42, of Butler, was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to sell as well as misdemeanor counts of tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and counterfeiting.

He is being held in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.

Police said they searched the home around 8 p.m. and found Baker had flushed some drugs down the toilet.

“Multiple empty stamp bags, sandwich bags and a black digital scale were found in the bathroom,” said the affidavit.

Despite the drugs down the drain, police said, they still found about 5.69 grams of crystal meth and 39 stamp bags of suspected heroin. According to police, officers also found a combination of pipes, empty baggies and multiple cellphones.

Police said amid about $410 of cash found, some were tracked bills that also indicated sales were taking place.

Baker is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing April 26.
