Butler Catholic School students, faculty and staff wore purple Thursday as part of Purple Up! Day. Held each April 15, Purple Up! For Military Kids was started by the Department of Defense to support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Butler Catholic joined this year to honor not only their own students who are military children, but also those worldwide who are children of U.S. military members, according to the school. Approximately 10% of the Butler Catholic student body, featured above, are children whose parents are currently serving or have previously served in the military.
