Donald F. Gaiser

Donald F. “Goose” Gaiser, 88, of Butler, passed away on March 16, 2021, at the West Penn Hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Butler, and was the son of the late Floyd A. Gaiser and the late Mabel (Miller) Gaiser.

Donald worked as a ladle crane operator at Armco, retiring in 1993 after 41 years.

He was very active in the Meridian Fire Department.

Donald was a member of the Butler Victory Lodge 272 F&AM, and several country music associations. He loved to dance and travel, and had visited all 50 states and every national park in the United States.

Donald was a master wood worker, specializing in cutting out Christmas displays. He was a Boy Scout leader, responsible for the canoeing trips for six years.

Donald was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher.

He is survived by his second wife, Alma Atkison, whom he married March 17, 2018; two sons, Donald P. Gaiser of Prospect, and Kenneth R. (Linda) Gaiser of Beaver; two daughters, Susan (Vince) Cummings of Claxton, Ga., and Drusilla Sisson of Butler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; six stepchildren; 17 stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Gaiser of Verona, Pa.; one sister, Louise Osselborn of Oakmont, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy L. (Kearns) Gaiser; one daughter, Marilyn Krick; two grandsons; and one sister, Coralee Cranmer.

GAISER — Friends of Donald F. “Goose” Gaiser, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Officers and members of Butler Victory Lodge 272 F&AM will meet at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Friday to conduct Masonic services.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Phillips officiating.

Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.

Due to COVID-19 state guidelines, visitors are required to supply and to wear a facial mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Groups are limited to 50 people inside.

Memorials are suggested to St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001.
