Cheryl Howard
Cheryl J. Howard, 74, of Parker, passed away peacefully, with her son by her side, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian.
She was born March 4, 1952, the daughter of the late James Wade and Mary Rose (Alworth) Wade.
In her younger years, she enjoyed drag racing cars (which was how she met her husband, John), driving motorcycles and even drove tractor-trailer, hauling steel for nine years.
Her passion in life was always her horses. She would often joke that she would get rid of her kid before she ever got rid of a horse. On the evening of Sunday, July 19, Cher saddled up and went out on her last ride. She made it home safely and moments later her son found her unconscious in her favorite “happy place,” her barn.
Surviving are her son, Jason Howard; and her granddaughter, Hailey Jo Howard, whom she absolutely adored. Also left behind are her horses, Spazz and Flicka; her dog, Freckles; and her three barn cats, who all miss her terribly.
Cher was the hardest working woman you could’ve ever met. She could always be found in her yard tending to her beautiful flower gardens or in her barn doing chores. To know Cher was to love her and everyone did.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Howard.
