Butler boys bowling team takes 2nd
Butler's boys bowling team finished second in the WPIBL Team Championships Wednesday at North Versailles Bowl in Pittsburgh.
The Golden Tornado lost to Norrth Allegheny, 2-1, in the best-of-three championship roll-off. The win marked NA's first-ever team bowling title.
Rocco Rice paced Butler with a 722 series. The Tornado led qualifying among 18 teams. North Allegheny defeated Hempfield 2-1 in the semifinals.
The runner-up finish qualifies Butler for the PA Western Regional.
Butler's girls compete in the WPIBL Team Championships Thursday.
