Two-car crash leaves one injured
One person was injured Tuesday morning when two vehicles collided on South Monroe Street at Lookout Point Bridge in Butler, city police said.
The crash occurred just before 10:50 a.m. and closed a portion of the road for about 50 minutes. Both vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed.
Police said the crash occurred when one of the drivers, Dayna Finucan, 59, of Butler, drifted into the opposing lane while traveling north on South Monroe Street. Her Hyundai Elantra collided with a southbound Toyota RAV4 driven by Ellen Milich, 49, of Center Township.
Finucan suffered minor injuries. A Butler Ambulance Service crew tended to her, but she refused further treatment. Milich apparently was not injured.
Police noted that both drivers were wearing seat belts and the air bags deployed in both vehicles.
The road reopened around 11:40 a.m. The Butler Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Police said no charges were filed in the crash.
