Adams OKs gas station again
On Monday night, Adams Township supervisors unanimously granted re-approval for a proposed Shell gas station and convenience store in the Whitetail Meadows development.
Tony Clerici of Larson Design Group re-presented the plans, which were initially brought before the township last year, at the supervisor's meeting.
He explained the 90-day time frame set during the approval process expired before developers recorded the plan.
“We're ready to go to have it recorded now,” said Clerici, who has been working with the Shell company.
There were no changes to the station and convenience store, the original location of which was proposed to be south of Route 228 along Scharberry Lane.
Shell, which will be entering into a long-term lease for the land, announced in July that it was planning to install a 1,000-square-foot car wash at the site. The proposed location has been described as a “prototype” being rolled out in certain communities.
The location will also have on-site parking and sidewalks in the area of Scharberry Lane and Aster Way, according to information shared last year.
Before Monday's meeting, township officials asked developers to adjust the height of a driveway on the site to adhere to township specifications.
Any issues stemming from that have been resolved, according to township engineer Ron Olsen and Clerici.
“That's all done and approved by the planning commission,” Clerici said.
