Mars Area School Board approved a number of items Tuesday night, including:
- Corey Googelman to a social studies position.
- Appointing Dayle Ferguson, Kevin Hagen and Christine Valenta to the Mars Planet Foundation Board for 2021
- A $3,500 donation from McKees Rocks Industrial Enterprises for teacher laptop stands
- An agreement with the University of Pittsburgh to allow two health and rehabilitation science graduate students to complete fieldwork in the district
- Nicholas Morlino as a volunteer judge for the Speech and Debate Club
- A settlement and general release agreement identified as File Number 24027-20-21AS
- A resolution supporting statewide cyber charter school funding reform
- An agreement with Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh for special needs student education and services
- A settlement and general release agreement with IKM Inc.
- The exoneration of real estate tax collectors from collecting late 2020 taxes turned over to the Butler County Tax Claim
- A second supplemental lease agreement between the Butler County Area Vo-Tech and each of the seven participating districts, authorizing leasing from the vo-tech authority; executing a supplemental release on behalf of the joint board; and taking appropriate action for a refunding project.
The school board met in executive session before and after the meeting for personnel and legal matters.
