Irene and Chuck Hardt

Chuck and Irene “Marge” Hardt of Middlesex Township celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Hardt and the former Marge Merenick were married Dec. 30, 1950, in Pittsburgh.

They have resided at their current home for 63 years.

They have eight children, Peggy of Ocoee, Fla.; Chuck Jr. of Stow, Ohio; Debbra of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; John of Valencia; Sandy of Plain Grove, Pa.; Bill of Valencia; Laura of Mars; and Jaquie of Red Lion, Pa. The Hardts have 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Chuck was a sales manager for American Bridge and Irene was a homemaker.

Both belong to Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. Chuck is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
