Adams Twp. plans holiday decorations

Adams Township is making plans to pull out all the stops when it comes to decorating for the holiday season, according to township supervisors.

“You may have (seen) a little bit of something in the park,” said Russell Ford, supervisor chairman Nov. 23. “A little bit of color on a couple of the pavilions.”

Because the pandemic has disrupted traditional holiday celebrations and activities, township officials are hoping to provide a special drive-thru experience for visitors in the community park.

Ford said while a “little bit of a tease” has been installed outside at this time, there's more to come.

“We are going in an all-out decoration of the park,” Ford said.

Hinting that Santa might make an appearance at some point, Ford said township workers will be decorating the rest of the park going into this week.

He hopes visitors will be able to drive through the area soon. Having the show accessible in a drive-through capacity will allow the township to adhere to social distancing standards.

Township officials indicated they hope to have a special kick-off event sometime this week. More details will be released in days to come on the township website and on social media.

Ford said he hopes the display will attract lots of visitors during the holiday season.

“We're hoping there will be a lot of activity in the park,” Ford said. “(We want to) try to maybe bring something good to the situation that's going on now.”

There are no additional details on the decoration display at this time.
