Driver uninjured in 1-vehicle accident in Jackson Township

Nobody was injured in a single-car accident on Farker Road in Jackson Township on Wednesday morning, though traffic was restricted while the pickup truck was removed.

JACKSON TWP — A single-car accident restricted traffic on Farker Road for roughly an hour Wednesday.

Around 10:30 a.m., the driver of a 1988 Ford F-series pickup truck appeared to have lost control of his vehicle while traveling northwest on Farker Road, and slid into an embankment near 230 Farker Road, according to Harmony Fire District firefighters at the scene. That site comes shortly after a sharp bend, which has a posted advisory speed limit of 15 miles per hour, and is a slight uphill climb.

Firefighters did not attribute any specific cause, such as speed or weather conditions, to the accident, although the road was slick Wednesday morning after sustained light rain.

The driver of the truck, the only passenger, was not injured and was not transported to the hospital following the accident. The dark blue truck sustained heavy damage to the roof of the cab and on the side panels along the bed, with several deep cracks running the length of the windshield.

Harmony firefighters were assisted at the scene by Jackson Township police officers. Traffic was temporarily restricted to one lane until roughly 11:45 a.m., when the truck was removed from the embankment.
