The Butler Area School District and Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School has reported new cases of COVID-19.

An individual at Center Township Elementary School self disclosed that they tested positive for COVID-19, and there are no close contacts, according to an alert Superintendent Brian White posted on the district’s website Tuesday.

The areas of the schools that the person came in contact with are being sanitized in addition to the daily cleaning procedures that are already in place.

The vo-tech said parents were notified Monday about a confirmed case. The Pennsylvania Department of Health and the school will contact students who had close contact with the person who tested positive.
