The Butler County Veterans Treatment Court will hold its eighth graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday in Courtroom 1 in the Butler County Courthouse. It will celebrate 15 veterans who successfully completed the program.

The specialty court was started in 2012 to address the growing number of veterans involved in the criminal justice system.

The program promotes sobriety, recovery, and stability through a coordinated team response involving Butler County judges, court administration, district attorney, public defender, adult probation, mental health program, county Veterans Affairs and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, there are veteran volunteers who serve as mentors for the veteran participant.
