Butler library returns to no-contact services
An increasing number of COVID-19 cases have caused the Butler Area Public Library to offer no-contact only services for the rest of November beginning Monday.
According to an Instagram release from the library, due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the county, building access including computer use and in-person genealogy research will not be available.
Services offered will be limited to curbside book pickups, grab-and-go activities, virtual programs and reference questions and genealogy research vie email and telephone.
Staff will be available by telephone and email from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
The book drop will continue to be open and returned materials will continue to be quarantined.
Patrons with questions or concerns are asked to contact the library at 724-287-1715.
The other eight libraries in the Butler County Federated Library System — Cranberry, Evans City, Mars, North Trail, Prospect, Slippery Rock, South Butler Community and Zelienople — have not announced changes in their operations. Most are operating under reduced hours and services and are asking visitors to wear masks and follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for social distancing.
