Grossman 90th birthday
Shirley Grossman, wife of the late Lawrence Grossman, celebrated her Bat Mitzvah on her 90th birthday at 10 a.m. Aug. 8, at her Butler home with her family and friends due to COVID-19 precautions, instead of at Congregation B’nai Abraham in Butler.
Shirley decided to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah (Daughter of the Covenant) for her 90th birthday wearing the tallit, prayer shawl, her late husband, Lawrence, wore for his bar mitzvah on his 13th birthday.
The former Shirley Farber was born Aug. 4, 1930.
She has two children, Helene (Howard) Goldstein of Pittsburgh; and the late Ilene Grossman (William) Mattock; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is the sister-in-law of Sara and Herbert Grossman
She enjoys knitting, crocheting, cooking, golfing and working at Congregation B’nai Abraham.
She is a member of Congregation B’nai Abraham.
