Registration for all 2020 fall sports at Mars Area High School and Mars Area Middle School is now open at www.FamilyID.com.

In addition to registering, parents must also print and submit the designated PIAA Physical Forms, available online at www.FamilyID.com.

Mars Area School District charges a $100 athletic participation fee per student per sport.

All fees and completed forms must be submitted at least one week before the first practice date for the corresponding sports team. No athlete will be permitted to practice without a completed physical or paid fee.

The Mars Planet Foundation will hold its seventh annual golf outing at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.Tee times will be assigned. Groups will be staggered every 10 minutes to ensure social distancing is maintained. Refreshments will be provided.Cost is $400 per four-member team. Pennsylvanians have one less thing to worry about with The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announcing the extension on cards that are going to be expired. Those cards include driver licenses, identification cards, and learner's permits. The extensions will stretch to Aug. 31. A camera card is considered a driver's license, so it is covered by the same terms and conditions extending other driver's license products.

Mars Area School District has posted its 2020-21 bus schedules for all district students to the Skyward Family Access portal.Parents may log in to Skyward via the “Student Information System” link on the district's website.Parents with any changes in busing needs because of day care arrangements or relocations are asked to contact Jane Roth, director of transportation, at jroth@marsk12.org by no later than 3 p.m. Monday.The district will make every effort to accommodate busing requests. No changes to bus schedules will be permitted from Tuesday through Sept. 11.

The Butler Area Public Library launched the Professional Resource Center, a set of tools online to help job seekers, educators, business owners, entrepreneurs, and community members.On the site, the library will continue to add more resources and for now it contains links to free training and digital skills lessons, educational curricula, and many other resources. The site is butlerlibrary.info/prc.This program is presented in collaboration with Grow With Google, and is made possible by funding from the American Library Association and Public Library Association, as part of the Libraries Lead With Digital Skills initiative.
