The Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 0152 will begin weekly meetings again starting with a 10 a.m. weigh-in Tuesday at the senior center at Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave. in Lyndora. The weigh-in will be followed by a meeting from 11 a.m. to noon.

[naviga:h3]NAMI meetings restart this week[/naviga:h3]

The Butler County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will resume meeting, beginning from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.

The group will meet on the third Thursday of the month.

[naviga:h3]Mars Area posts summer hours[/naviga:h3]

Mars Area School District will be open for the summer from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays beginning June 29. District buildings will be closed on Fridays through Aug. 21.

The district will also be closed July 6 for Independence Day.

Regular business hours will resume Aug. 24.

[naviga:h3]Program passed $30M in assets[/naviga:h3]

The PA ABLE Savings Program (PA ABLE) has surpassed $30 million in assets, reaching more than $30.5 million.

PA ABLE currently benefits nearly 3,500 account owners and is the largest program in the National ABLE Alliance.

PA ABLE offers Pennsylvanians with disabilities access to seven different savings and investment options including an interest-bearing checking account with accompanying debit card. Saving with PA ABLE does not jeopardize eligibility for federal and state benefits, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) (savings up to $100,000) and Medical Assistance.

[naviga:h3]Mars Kennywood trip rescheduled[/naviga:h3]

Mars Area School District's school picnic at Kennywood Amusement Park is rescheduled for Aug. 16.

The picnic was originally scheduled for June 22.

[naviga:h3]Mars students present cabaret[/naviga:h3]

Mars Area High School's choral program is showcasing students' vocal talents as part of a virtual choral cabaret night.

Performances are offered by senior Alyssa Guenther; juniors Zachary Brunotts, Ellie Howell, Ethan Kemper, John Kiewall and Ella Seebacher; sophomores Meredith Gaura, Kyleigh Gianfrancesceo and Audrey Milk; and freshmen Mia Shterengarts and Molly Suppo.
