Driver hurt in three-vehicle crash involving cement truck
BUTLER TWP — One person was injured following a three-vehicle crash Thursday evening on Evans City Road involving a cement truck.
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. when a sedan heading west attempted to turn left from Evans City Road onto Stirling Drive and did so in front of the cement truck, said Patrolman Drew Blasko of the Butler Township Police.
When the cement truck hit the sedan, Blasko said, the sedan was pushed into a second vehicle.
The driver of the sedan struck by the cement truck had unknown injuries, Blasko said, adding that no other injuries were immediately known.
Both sedans, one black and one red, were towed from the scene around 5:40 p.m. The black sedan could be seen with heavy damage on the front passenger side. Authorities were unsure which vehicle was the one that attempted to turn into Stirling Drive.
The crash closed Evans City Road for about 40 minutes from the intersection of Eberhart Road to a bit past Hospital Road.
The cement truck, though damaged, was driveable, according to Blasko.
The road was reopened about 5:50 p.m.
Butler Township Fire also responded to the crash.
