Students to take part in project with Holocaust theme
Seneca Valley's Ryan Gloyer Middle School students will use their creativity for a cause Tuesday.
Students will participate in The Butterfly Project on Feb. 11, in which they paint ceramic butterflies to memorialize each of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust.
According to its website, The Butterfly Project uses lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry through the painting of ceramic butterflies that are permanently displayed around the world.
RGMS received a grant for this project from the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh.
Students will paint butterflies during the following times:
4 8:48 a.m. to 9:27 a.m.
4 9:30 a.m. to 10:09 a.m.
4 11:55 a.m. to 12:34 p.m.
4 12:37 to 1:16 p.m.
4 1:19 to 1:58 p.m.
