Remdesivir is a drug being used to treat coronavirus, not a vaccine to prevent it, as stated in an article (Feb. 5) about Slippery Rock University canceling a Chinese New Year event. Also Dr. Qin Eisler, a former medical researcher for the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a Slippery Rock resident, emailed the U.S. CDC about her concerns for the virus. Information in the article may have been misleading.
The article “Council vote may have been improper” (Feb. 5 incorrectly identifi ed the manner in which the Evans City streets department union was no longer recognized. The borough informed the bargaining unit it no longer recognized the union when the numberof employees in the department dropped to one.
In the story “Families navigate craniofacial differences” (Feb. 4), Madisyn Bowers’ next major surgery will be a LeFort 3 osteotomy. She will have a LeFort 1 osteotomy at a later date.
