PORTERSVILLE — Winterfest at Moraine State Park will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at McDanel’s Launch, North Shore.

Visitors can enjoy winter-themed festivities such as a family-friendly hike at 11 a.m., children’s crafts, a chili cook-off, snowshoeing demonstrations, ice and chain-saw carvings, ice rescue demonstrations, live music, a bonfire, food and craft vendors.

The first 500 attendees will receive a swag bag, 20 of which will hold two tickets to ride the Nautical Nature in the 2020 season.

This event is free.

PENN TWP — Nixon Preschool, 334 Airport Road, will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 16.

Registration is currently open for fall 2020 for classes on Tuesday/Thursday mornings for 3-year-olds and Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings for 4- to 5-year-olds. More information is available, along with a registration form, at nixonumchurch.org, or by calling 724-586-7372.
