Daughter, 27, accused of stealing dad's guns, selling them for drugs
HARRISVILLE — A borough woman is accused of stealing two guns belonging to her father and selling them for drugs, authorities said.
Chasidy M. Agostino, 27, is facing a hearing next week on multiple felonies in connection with the alleged theft last fall from the family's home on West Mercer Street.
The victim reported his guns — a Bushmaster AR-15 and a Ruger pistol — missing Nov. 6, state police said. He told investigators that he suspected his daughter.
The next day, police said, Agostino notified the investigating trooper, advising that she had told her father “everything.” She also wanted to talk to the trooper.
During an interview Nov. 11, police said, Agostino admitted removing the semi-automatic rifle from her father's safe in October.
“She added that she then traded the rifle for seven grams of crack cocaine,” according to charging documents, “to a male known only as 'Geo' in Butler city.”
On Nov. 4, she allegedly told police, she took the pistol from her father's bedroom and swapped it for seven grams of crack to the same buyer.
Police said the two firearms are worth a combined $1,560.
District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned Agostino Wednesday on two felony counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.
In Pennsylvania, the theft of a firearm is considered a second-degree felony, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Agostino was released on $5,000 unsecured bond following arraignment. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 12 at O'Donnell's office in Slippery Rock.
