[naviga:h3]Application open for scholarship [/naviga:h3]

Applications for the Griffith D. Morgan Scholarship are available in the guidance office of Karns City High School and Armstrong High School. Applications must be postmarked by April 30 to be considered.

An applicant must be a permanent resident of the Borough of East Brady and Brady Township in Clarion County or Sugarcreek Township, Bradys Bend Township, or Washington Township in Armstrong County and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year college/university program for the 2020-2021 school year. Students who are part-time or enrolled at vocational, technical or community colleges are not eligible.

A first-time applicant must have an official transcript of high school grades and evidence of admission to college/university attached to the application.

Applicants must apply each year.

[naviga:h3]Kindergarten orientation slated[/naviga:h3]

WEST SUNBURY — The Moniteau School District will host families of incoming students for kindergarten orientation at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 26 at Dassa McKinney Elementary School, 391 Hooker Road.

Families will receive packets and forms to be completed before registering their kindergarten student on March 3 and 4. Appointments for registration must be made in advance by calling the school office at 724-637-2321.

Children in the school district are eligible for kindergarten in the 2020-21 school year if they are 5 years old on or before Aug. 15.

Student birth certificates, immunization records and two proofs or residency are required at the time of registration.

[naviga:h3]Petition-signing event on Saturday[/naviga:h3]

CRANBERRY TWP — The Butler County Republican Committee is hosting a petition-signing event for Republican primary candidates to place their names on the ballot from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, Grange Hall, 2525 Rochester Road.

Refreshments will be served.
