Gist works as a subcontractor for Diamond Heavy Haul, which specializes in transporting large, heavy loads, and escorts the truck in her vehicle. State police assisted in the escort. The combined weight of the compressor and Diamond Heavy Haul's steerable trailer is 393,000 pounds, she said. The big load is scheduled to arrive at its destination on Feb. 7, Gist said.
