Each year during American Education Week, senior class officers begin the process of selecting a graduate from Butler High School to receive the Distinguished Graduate Award.

Nominations for a past graduate who has achieved something outstanding in his or her chosen profession, or has made contributions to the community, state, or nation are available at the school district website, the senior high website, or at any school office

The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2020. The recipient is announced each year at commencement.

SLIPPERY ROCK — There will be a craft sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Slippery Rock Community Park Building, 320 N. Main St.There will be holiday and everyday crafts, as well as a raffle to benefit the Slippery Rock Feed My Sheep food cupboard.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The board of directors of the Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Slippery Rock Area Parks & Recreation Center, 320 N. Main St.The meeting is open to the public.
