Thompson 104th birthday
Clara J. Thompson of Concordia Lund Care Center, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, will celebrate her 104th birthday with a family party Aug. 24 at a family residence.
The former Clara Jameson was born Aug. 20, 1915, near Petrolia. She married Robert K. Thompson. He died Oct. 18, 2012.
She has two children, Robert K. Thompson of Tucson, Ariz., and Larry J. Thompson of Delmont.
She also has six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as an elementary school teacher for 29 years, for the County Board of Assistance for seven years and for the U.S. Public Health Service for one and a half years.
She is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora, and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
Her hobbies include knitting, crocheting, painting, macrame, pottery and beading.
She has vacationed two or three weeks each year for 52 years at Temagami, Ontario, Canada.
