Jim and Kay Huemme of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family trip to California and the Pebble Beach Golf Tournament.

Huemme married the former Kay Beach on Aug. 23, 1969, at Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

They have one son, David Huemme of Butler.

Huemme is a teacher at Summit Elementary School.

He plays handbells and sings in the choir at his church. He enjoys golfing and bowling and delivering Meals on Wheels.Mrs. Huemme is a substitute teacher with Butler area schools.She is a Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and plays handbells for her church.The Huemmes are members of First United Methodist Church in Butler.
