POLICE REPORTS

These items have been collected from various police departments.

12:42 a.m. Saturday — Leo R. Mullen, 53, was arrested after he allegedly punched his wife in the face during a domestic dispute at their apartment on the 300 block of West Jefferson Street. The victim suffered redness and swelling around the left eye.

Mullen fled the home, but police later found him in a nearby vacant apartment. District Judge Bill O’Donnell arraigned him on a charge of simple assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail following arraignment.

6:56 p.m. Thursday — Jeremy L. Schmidt, 42, of Winfield Township was arrested on charges he would not comply with police during a call for a possible burglary at a law office on North Main Street.

Police said that while on the call they found Schmidt, who they suspected was intoxicated, sitting on a couch inside a garage. The garage door was partially opened, and officers did not know if he was permitted there, according to court documents.

Later, police would learn that he was allowed on the property.

Schmidt was ordered to show his hands and get on the ground. Officers said he showed his hands, but he did not get on the ground. Police had to put him on the ground, documents said, but he resisted when they tried to arrest him. Officers said they had to stun the defendant with a Taser.

He was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.
