Police respond to call about man passed out in car
CENTER TWP — A parolee was found unresponsive in a vehicle with bags of suspected heroin and hypodermic needles, authorities said.
State police arrested Joshua S. Sunday, 36, of Prospect on misdemeanor drug charges Friday night.
Police said they found Sunday after they were called around 8:15 p.m. for a man apparently passed out in a vehicle on Route 38 near Pine Tract Road in Center Township.
Medics were already treating the defendant in the back of an ambulance when troopers arrived. Police said he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle, according to charging documents, turned up 19 stamp bags of suspected heroin and 20 empty bags.
Police said they also seized three hypodermic needles and two pill bottles containing plastic wrap with suspected heroin residue.
Sunday was placed in the Butler County Prison on a state parole detainer.
On Saturday, District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned the suspect on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. O'Donnell set bail at $10,000.
