An accident on West Penn Street in the city Monday involved a four-door Hyundai sedan that witnesses say hit a parked car.

An accident involving a parked car around 3:45 p.m. Monday on West Penn Street in Butler resulted in minor injuries.

Multiple witnesses said they saw an eastbound four-door Hyundai sedan strike a parked car on West Penn Street just past the stop sign at the Broad Street intersection.

The Hyundai's front passenger-side corner struck the rear driver's side corner of the parked car, damaging both cars at the point of impact. The Hyundai skidded around sidewise, coming to rest perpendicular to the parked car.

Witnesses said 911 was called immediately as the man driving the Hyundai exited the vehicle with blood covering his face and a young girl in the car was crying. An adult woman was also a passenger in the Hyundai.

EMTs treated the driver at the scene for a cut on his head. They evaluated the other two passengers.

No one was transported from the scene.

Butler City Police investigated the crash.

Butler firefighters assisted on the scene.
