SAXONBURG — Cynthia Wylie, children’s author of the “Bloomers Island” series, will visit the South Butler Community Library, 240 W. Main St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Growing up on her family farm in the area inspired her books. After reading a story, she will engage children in activities that promote healthy living and teach about growing your own food.

Activities are geared toward toddler, preschool and elementary children. Take a copy of her book to have it signed. A limited number of books will be available there.

The event is free, and no registration is required.
