Samantha Roth, 2011 Jr. Miss Saxonburg and current USA National Miss Pennsylvania, visits South Butler Community Library, 240 West Main St. in Saxonburg at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to read stories and lead fun activities for “Be a Friend, Not a Bully” to promote positive friendships that stop bullying.

Boys and girls from preschool through early elementary school will take pictures with Samantha. This program is free with no registration required.

A fundraiser to benefit Homeless Cats of Butler, Operation Spay and Neuter, OVADA, and Stray Solutions Animal Rescue will be at the Lyndora American Legion Post 778 with doors opening at noon Saturday and drawings beginning at 1 p.m.There will be designer purses, a basket auction, raffles and for those taking a bottle of wine, a wine raffle. MIDDLESEX TWP — The Lighthouse Foundation will offer an 8- week Excel class from 1 to 3 p.m. starting July 11 at the Lighthouse, 116 Browns Hill Road.The course is split into two parts: basic running July 11 to Aug. 4 and printing formulas and functions running Aug. 8 to Aug. 29.Registration is required, and space is limited.
