Former SR man dies from crash injuries
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP. — A former Slippery Rock man died from injuries he suffered in what state police said was a high-speed, one-vehicle crash in Slippery Rock Township early Saturday.
A 2010 Jeep Wrangler driven by Ian Campbell, 29, who lived just across the county line in Grove City, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Franklin Road in the area of Branchton Road at 2:12 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, police said.
Campbell was ejected as his Jeep overturned and came to rest on its side on the northern side of Route 108, police said. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he died from his injuries, police said.
According to the police report, Campbell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was the only person in the vehicle.
Campbell was born in Butler and grew up in Slippery Rock. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and Campbell Bus Lines, both located in Slippery Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Erika Campbell.
