3 men nabbed in raid at Third Avenue home
An investigation into suspected heroin and crack cocaine trafficking in Butler landed three men behind bars, each on six-figure bail.
A Butler County Drug Task Force-led search Monday night of the targeted home on Third Avenue also turned up dozens of bags of suspected drugs and related contraband and thousands of dollars in currency.
Charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession are Todd J. Dunmyre, 31, who lives at the home; Devon N. Davis Hill, 27, of Philadelphia; and Quadi Archer, 28, of New Castle, Del.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned the defendants Tuesday, setting bail at $100,000 for each.
Task force officials reported Butler police were dispatched over the weekend to Dunmyre's house for drug activity complaints.
During one of those calls, a city officer, who also works for the task force, conducted a traffic stop Sunday. The driver mentioned he was visiting a man he knew as “Prince,” investigators said.On Monday, according to charging documents, the officer learned from another source that two men, one of them “Prince,” had set up at the home to allegedly deal drugs.Documents show that Davis Hill goes by the name “Prince.”The task force set up a controlled drug buy at the Third Avenue house using a police informant. The informant subsequently bought crack for $60, according to charging documents.Following the buy, investigators said that officers obtained a search warrant for the house.Archer was nabbed as he ran out the back door. Davis Hill and Dunmyre were also found at the home.Officers said Archer had $2,102 in currency on him, including $60 in prerecorded official funds that were used for the drug buy. Davis Hill was allegedly found with $203 in currency.
Court documents reveal task force members found 46 stamp bags of suspected heroin in the living room during the search of the house.A plastic bag with 0.36 grams of suspected crack and 16.5 grams of an unknown white powder was found in the toilet of an upstairs bathroom.Officers said they also seized from the house a digital scale, suspected drug-packaging materials and four cell phones.The defendants' preliminary hearings were tentatively scheduled for June 24.Court records reveal Davis Hill and Archer have multiple felony drug possessions, all in Philadelphia.
