A Lawrence County man is facing numerous burglary, theft and firearms charges stemming from burglaries reported at 29 homes in Butler, Beaver, Lawrence, Armstrong and Mercer counties in 2017.

Michael Paul Mason, 43 of Pulaski has been charged with 29 felony counts of burglary, 21 felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, 16 felony counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, 29 felony counts of criminal trespass, 18 misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, four misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and 13 summary counts of criminal mischief by state police in Butler.

Money, pistols and jewelry were reported stolen, police said a complaint and affidavit of probable cause filed against Mason at Magisterial District Judge Sue Haggerty's office in Saxonburg on May 7.

Many of the burglaries occurred during daylight hours and access was gained by kicking in doors or through unlocked doors, police said.

According to the affidavit, 19 of the burglaries took place in Butler County, four took place in Beaver County, another four occurred in Armstrong County and two occurred in Mercer County.
