Wamboldt 100th birthday
Pearl Elizabeth Thompson Wamboldt of Slippery Rock celebrated her 100th birthday April 14 with a party hosted by her children at the Slippery Rock Two Center.
The former Pearl Thompson was born April 10, 1919. She married Charles J. Wamboldt Sr. He preceded her in death.
She has six children, Karen (Dan) Shipton of Slippery Rock, Harold (Robin) Wamboldt of Philipsburg, Cindy Sheppeck of Butler, Rick (Janet) Wamboldt of Mercer, Chuck (Linda) Wamboldt of St. Peter, Mo., and Geri Gardner of New Castle.
She also has 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a matron at the Butler County Prison for her father, Sheriff Robert Thompson, and was a secretary for the Northern Butler County School District.
She is a member of the Butler Eastern Star where she served as chaplain and choir director.
She is a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Slippery Rock where she played piano and organ.
