Seneca Valley students are reaping the benefits of their hard work.

Last fall, 80 students from Ryan Gloyer Middle School, Haine Middle School and Rowan Elementary School partnered with Cranberry Township, the Pennsylvania Municipal League, the state of Pennsylvania, KABOOM, and local and state government officials to build a new playground at North Boundary Park in Cranberry Township.

The catch? They built the playground in one day.

The students made a lasting impression and were recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Parks and Recreation Society for their contribution.

The group was awarded the Pennsylvania Project of the Year and the 2018 Pennsylvania State Cooperative Program of the Year at a conference at Penn State University.
