[naviga:h3]EC library to hold spring book sale[/naviga:h3]

EVANS CITY — The Evans City Public Library is hosting its spring book sale at Ritzert Hall, 426 E. Main St., Evans City.

Over 25,000 books will be available.

The sale, which benefits the library, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 5 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 6.

[naviga:h3]Soprano performs at Concordia [/naviga:h3]

JEFFERSON TWP — Internationally acclaimed soprano Colleen Gray performs at Concordia Haven at 7 p.m. April 9 in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road.

Gray, a music professor at Slippery Rock University, teaches voice, language diction, vocal pedagogy and opera performance.

Gray also earned a performance certificate from the Accademia Vocale di Lucca in Italy and completed an apprenticeship with the Pittsburgh Opera Center. She has performed extensively in Europe and the United States.

[naviga:h3]Saxony Farm hosts fishing derby[/naviga:h3]

SAXONBURG — Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host a free fishing derby for children 14 and under from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at Saxony Farm Estate in Saxonburg.

Concordia will provide bait, a few fishing rods to borrow (attendees should bring their own), hot dogs and refreshments. There will be prizes. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers will be on hand to help measure fish, detangle fishing lines, teach the basics and more. Guests should take their own lawn chairs or blankets, if interested.

[naviga:h3]Fire company slates bazaar[/naviga:h3]

HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a spring bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 at the fire hall, 313 E. Mercer St.

There will be refreshments, crafts, an auction, free admission and parking.
