[naviga:h3]Schools, parents eligible for grants[/naviga:h3]

Since 2009 Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) has provided $8.7 million in grants and technical support to help schools achieve student wellness goals. Now through April 5, schools and parents can apply for the following grants available for the 2019-20 school year:

Game On Grants — Secure funding and resources for your school to introduce or improve nutrition and physical activity programs.

Parents for Healthy Kids Grants — Parents and parent-led groups (PTAs, PTOs) can apply for a $1,000 school grant to provide funds and resources to introduce or improve fitness or nutrition programs.

School Breakfast Grants — Expand access to school breakfast for hungry and undernourished kids.

[naviga:h3]Grief support groups forming[/naviga:h3]

JEFFERSON TWP — Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, conducts grief support groups for anyone who has suffered loss of a loved one.

The six-week group begins April 25 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Concordia Haven II Education Room on the second floor through May 30. Concordia Haven II is located at 148 Marwood Road, Entrance 5.

The session is free and open to the public. Registration is required by April 22. For information or to register, call Bereavement Coordinator Nicole Rosswog at 1-800-720-2557, ext. 4423.
