[naviga:h3]Jennings begins habitat expansion[/naviga:h3]

BRADY TWP — After several years of planning, an extensive habitat restoration project is under way at Jennings Environmental Education Center.

Selected trees were removed late last month from a 12-acre area bordering the northern edge of the center’s existing prairie ecosystem. This will create a mixed woodland-grassland habitat where the trees are widely spaced so that the canopy will not close, allowing light to reach the ground.

For more information on the project, call the park office at 724-794-6011 or follow the center’s Facebook page.
