Howard 95th birthday
Leona R. Howard of Butler celebrated her 95th birthday March 2 with a family dinner.
The former Leona Szymkiewicz was born March 2, 1924, in Natrona.
She married Clarence W. Howard on July 28, 1947, in St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church in Natrona.
She has five children, Craig (Margaret) Howard of Mount Carmel, Ill.; the late David Howard; Jocelyn (Henry) Sinopoli of Butler; Gene (Sheila) Howard of Washington, Pa.; and Curt (Mary) Howard of Mullica Hill, N.J.; and a daughter-in-law, Joan (Ray) Harris of Mars.
She also has 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Howard is a homemaker and a graduate of the St. Francis Nursing School in Pittsburgh.
She is a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian where she was a former Eucharistic minister.
She remains a Meals on Wheels volunteer and has been for 48 years. She is a member of several bridge and card clubs. She was formerly active in the Penn Township Women’s Club.
