The Rock beats Salem
The Slippery Rock women’s basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night at home as The Rock defeated Salem University, 98-90.
SRU is currently on the outside looking in at seventh place in the PSAC- West standings with an 11-16 overall record, 8-12 in conference.
Ciara Patterson lead The Rock with 21 points and four rebounds, with Brooke Hinderliter adding 15 points and three rebounds.
SRU took a commanding lead early with a 32-9 edge after the first quarter. Salem responded with 30 in the second, 22 in the third, and 29 in the fourth, but The Rock would eventually hold on for a nine point victory.
Morgan Henderson added 14 points with five rebounds.
On Saturday, The Rock will host Gannon University for its regular season finale with a 1 p.m. tip-off. The winner will move on to post-season play.
