Judy K. Fisher

Judy K. Fisher

Judy K. Fisher, 75, of Butler was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully went home to be with our Lord on Sunday in the ICU at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh as a result of complications from an extended illness.

Regardless of how much pain she was in, Judy always maintained an upbeat, positive attitude.

Judy was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Chicora, and was the daughter of the late Paul Benninger and Helen Rodgers.

Judy thoroughly enjoyed spending her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy loved traveling the country and camping. Between traveling through and visiting exciting locations and national parks throughout the U.S., Judy and her husband were camp hosts at Clear Creek State Park in Jefferson County for several summers.

She and her husband visited 49 states; her favorite place was Badlands National Park.

She and her husband enjoyed researching family genealogy and published two family books. Judy and her husband were founding members of the Goosetown Gang in Chicora and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and holiday decorating. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to her calling them early on their birthday and singing “Happy Birthday.”

Judy graduated from Karns City High School in 1961.

On June 2, 1962, Judy married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Fisher.

Judy and Jerry met when Jerry was riding his Harley up North Main Street. He saw this beautiful girl waving her arms at him. They pulled into Morgan's Wonder Boy Drive-In and the rest is history.

Judy worked in retail and was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by two daughters and one son, Tracey of Renfrew, Keith (Brenda) of Renfrew, and Annie (Jim) Fleming of West Sunbury.

Judy is also survived by her six grandchildren, Amanda Fisher of Lebanon, Ind., Kristen (Kyle) Rottman of West Sunbury, Alisha Fisher of Butler, James Fleming Jr. of West Sunbury, Mark Fleming of Emlenton, and David Fisher of Renfrew.

Judy absolutely loved doting on and spoiling her two great-grandchildren, Keyona Abron of Butler, and Mason Rottman of West Sunbury.

Judy is also survived by one brother, Paul Benninger (Rose); and three sisters, Mary Ann Benninger, Cindy Benninger and Dorothy (Jim) Turner; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Donna (Tom) Bartoe, Bernadette Benninger, who died at birth, and Helen Francis Benninger, who was five.
