SRU swept by Indiana

INDIANA — Slippery Rock University’s women’s basketball team fell to fourth-ranked Indiana (Pa.) on the road Wednesday night, 88-51.

The Rock (9-12, 7-8) was outscored by 30 in the first half.

Olivia Fusaro led The Rock with 15 points with five rebounds. Brooke Hinderliter and Karns City graduate LeeAnn Gibson both added seven points each.

SRU shot 22.5 percent from the field while going 13 of 21 from the free throw line.

With its fourth win in a row, Indiana keeps a stranglehold on first place in the PSAC West with a 19-1 record.

Men

The Rock fell hard to No. 6 IUP, 77-48, after scoring 24 points in the first and second halves.

Micah Till led The Rock (15-7, 12-3) with 10 points and four rebounds. Vinny Lasley was able to notch nine points, two rebounds, and a three-pointer.

SRU shot 25.9 percent from the field, while going 13 of 21 from the freethrow line.

IUP extended its lead over SRU for first place in the PSAC West, extending its record to 20-2 overall, 13-2 in league play.
