Chamber planning 17th annual expo
Area businesses can network and land some sales during the Butler County Chamber of Commerce's upcoming 17th annual Health, Wealth, Wellness and More Expo.
Fifty businesses from a variety of industries will have tables set up to display products and information for the event in the Clearview Mall from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Vendors will include businesses in health care, financial planning, banking and home improvement as well as social service and nonprofit organizations, said Stan Kosciuszko, chamber president.
“It's a wide variety of different businesses. Some vendors will sell products and we have quite a few nonprofit organizations. It's a nice wintertime event. It will be warm inside and people can see businesses they might not otherwise see,” Kosciuszko said. “We're hoping for a nice event. The mall has been so cooperative.”
Some exhibitors will conduct raffles. The number of vendors was capped at 50 so shoppers can visit each table and not be distracted by an overabundance of them, he said. The $150 fee vendors pay to take part in the expo, which is being held near JCPenny, has never been increased so businesses of all sizes can participate, Kosciuszko said. For the second year, staff from the Butler County Humane Society is bringing dogs from the shelter to help attract shoppers to the expo.“We've had good attendance over the last couple years. It's been pretty well attended,” he said. The expo is being sponsored by Armco Credit Union, Butler Health System, Highmark, Butler YMCA, Kenmac Rentals and Sales and the Butler Eagle.
