Rock win streak reaches 11

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Rock keeps rolling.

Jared Armstrong scored 22 points and Micah Till added 20 as SRU rolled to its 11th straight win Wednesday night, downing Pitt-Johnstown 87-70 at Morrow Field House.

Nolen Gerald totaled 16 points, while John Warren II notched 14. The Rock shot 31 of 67 from the field, including 8 of 22 from three point territory.

SRU totaled 18 rebounds. The Rock will travel to Edinboro on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip-off.

Women

Pitt-Johnstown 79, Slippery Rock 75— Four SRUplayers recorded double-digit performances for just the third time this season, but The Rock fell to the Mountain Cats at home.

Senior guard Ciara Patterson led the way for SRU with a season-high 21 points, adding three rebounds. Morgan Henderson tallied her fifth double-double of the season, scoring 10 points with a team-leading 12 boards.

Madison Johnson racked up 15 points with two blocked shots and a steal. Brooke Hinderliter posted 15 points, pulling her within five points of 1,000 at The Rock.

The Rock shot 28 of 68 from the field. SRU travels to Edinboro for a 1 p.m. tip Saturday.
