Rich-Mar Rotary Club honors local law enforcement

The Rich-Mar Rotary Club recently honored law enforcement personnel from around the region during a luncheon meeting at the Treesdale Country Club.

Law enforcement officers from across the region were thanked for their service during a recent meeting of the Rich-Mar Rotary Club.

A luncheon was held during the club's meeting at the Treesdale Country Club.

Speaking was Special Agent in Charge Robert Allan Jones of the FBI's Pittsburgh office.

Jones has been with the FBI for 22 years. He served in the Counterintelligence Division of FBI Headquarters and as assistant director of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Division. Before his work in the FBI, Jones was an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

In light of the October attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Jones was asked to talk about active shooter situations and the role of the FBI in responding to situations. He shared insight into how teams are coordinated for such events and praised law enforcement officers in Allegheny County for how well they work together with the FBI.

In attendance were Sgt. Bryan DeWick and Detective Matt Durzo of Northern Region Police Department; Chief Shawn Anglum and Assistant Chief Bob Scanlon of the Adams Township Department; Butler District Attorney Richard Goldinger; District Judge Sue Haggerty; Chief Joseph McCombs of the Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police Department; Chief Jim Miller and Sgt. Kevin Mikulan of the Zelienople Police Department; Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe; Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark Peffer and Capt. Brian Karenbauer of the Butler County Sheriff's Office; Chief Robert O'Neill of the Butler Police Department; Chief Kevin Radford of the Mars Police Department; Officer in Charge Sgt. Randy Ruediger of the Middlesex Township Police Department; District Judge Wayne Seibel of Evans City; and Chief Bill Westerman, honorably retired from the Adams Township Police Department.
