Pairs of paper socks were found adorning lockers all over Mars Area Centennial School last Tuesday.
This was the brainchild of sixth-grade student Jack Clark, who encouraged his fellow students to decorate and cut out paper socks in commemoration of Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
The sock motif was part of a wider effort by the school district to ask its students and staff to wear bright, colorful, or mismatched socks to show support for those with Down syndrome and raise awareness about it.
